ETA cost UK: is it the same for every traveller?

Yes. The ETA cost UK travellers pay is identical for adults, children and babies, because each person needs a personal authorisation linked to their own passport. It is also the same whatever your destination: London, Edinburgh, Cardiff or Belfast, since the permit is national and valid across the whole United Kingdom.

For a family of four, count 4 × €83 = €332. The UK ETA cost for a couple is €166.

The authorisation lasts 2 years, or until the passport expires if that happens sooner, with multiple entries. The ETA cost UK families pay therefore covers every trip during that period, provided each person keeps using the same passport.

When should you apply?

There is no option to choose. According to the UK government, most decisions arrive within a day, but some can take up to 3 working days, so apply at least three working days before travelling. The price is the same for every date.
